Will Davis Dunn, affectionately known as “WD”, a son given by the Lord to Arthur Dunn and Lottie Pegues Dunn was born in Elderville, Texas on May 12, 1921 and departed this life Saturday morning on July 7, 2018, following a period of declining strength and health. The span of his earthly pilgrimage was 97 years.
Today we rejoice in the knowledge that he has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever at home with the Saviour.
He faithfully served the Lord. He married Nelwyn Jones, to this union two daughters were born: Robbie D. Wilson and Ava Marie Fanner of Fort Worth, Texas.
On March 8, 1968, he married Willie Sue Glazier. Together for more than forty years, they experienced the changing scenes of life in a joyous and fruitful companionship, which the Lord had entrusted to them until her death on October 2, 2007.
Will “WD”, a World War II veteran, received a Purple Heart Metal while serving his country. He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army on December 13, 1945.
Will retired from General Motors Corporation in Pontiac, Michigan. Later years, he also became a licensed barber.
At a young age, Will “WD” accepted and confessed the Lord as his Saviour through water baptism. After relocating back to Longview, Texas, he continued to serve the Lord at the East Cotton Church of Christ as one of the leading brothers.
Those that preceded him in death are his parents, his wife Willie Sue, two sisters Lucille Portley and Lucinda Blakely and two brothers Oscar Dunn and James Dunn.
His survivors are two daughters: Robbie D. Wilson and Ara Marie Fanner of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren: Vera Fanner, William Fanner and Kesi Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas; three great-grandchildren; one niece; four nephews; other relatives; a loving niece: Nevarro Jean who loved him dearly and the East Cotton Church of Christ Family.
